Congratulations everyone, we have finished. Nate and Jan you did well working on the podcast. We couldn't have had a better team working on that. Kristin the script was fantastic. Becca is was great working with you on video.

Work Day Thursday

It's a good thing that we had almost all day to work on Thursday. We have so much to complete together. The old saying "Two Heads are Better than one" is so true. We have learned so much from working together on things that one of the most important lessons we have learned is cooperation.

Music and Sound Clips

When we were in the copyright and fair use class today, we disussed that a huge amount of what we do in our classroom and how it either follows or doesn't follow the copyright law. This I found to be very beneficial. It was amazing how much is not allowed and yet students can have a small amount (10% or less) of a song for use in the classroom only. Audacity

I've been playing with Audacity..it is trickier than I thought. I did discover that if you highlight a section, it only plays the sound in the highlighted area. That helps when you are trying to edit out ummm's and other unwanted sounds.

Nate...my files didn't split up on the laptop, but I did notice that they split up when I put them on the flash drive...go figure.

I just morphed a picture of my cat's head into a shrunken head, my oldest daughter thinks we all need to go on medicines....

exhausted! We really are making progress on this. The recipe is great Jan - we even used it in our interview. I wonder who we can ask to buy shrunken heads from tomorrow. We'll see....

Cooperation

I feel that our groups strength is in the amount of work we are all willing to do to get a project done. Together we are creating a fantastic project. Tomorrow we will edit our projects and will be completed on time. I just encountered a new technological problem but one that was easily solved. If you hook a camera up to the computer through the USB device, use a port on the computer not an adapter that is connected to the port. The adapter cause the camera to not have a strong enough signal for the computer to recgonize the camera.

How to make a Jivaro Shrunken Head

• Remove head.
• Make a slit from the back of the head to the crown of the head.
• Separate the fleshy part of the face and the top of the head from the skull. (Skull may be thrown in river to placate Anaconda god.)
• Turn face inside out and scrape all fatty tissue off.
• Place the head into a pot of simmering water (do not boil, or hair may fall off).
• Simmer until head is about two thirds natural size.
• Sew back of neck, eyes and lips closed with plant fiber.
• Heat small pebbles in fire and place in head, constantly moving.
• When head is too small for pebbles use hot sand.
• Dye head blue-black with plant dyes.
• While heating, continuously mold face to keep the look of its original owner as much as possible.
• Use heated knife to dry and shrink lips.
• Wear around neck.

Connectivity

Today we have been experiencing huge amounts of connection problems to the wireless network. It is so new that the internet connections are hit and miss for us.
